Drawing review for mechanical and HVAC engineers
Put your layout over the architectural plan to see clashes, then mark them up and take off what the job needs.

Workflows that apply
Overlay clash checks
Overlay sheets in different colours, align them by two points, and mark up the clashes on the sheet you are reviewing.
Compare and overlay →Takeoff
Lengths of duct and pipe runs, areas, and counts of diffusers or units at the sheet’s scale, totalled by subject or room.
Takeoff and estimating →Symbol search
Draw a box around one diffuser and find the others on the sheet or the set; matches become counts.
Takeoff and estimating →An example from our sample set
In the sample Lakeside set, overlaying the level 2 mechanical plan (M-102) on the lighting plan (E-102) shows the conference room’s supply diffuser sitting on a light fitting — the kind of clash the overlay is for.
Our sample sets are generated, fictional drawings made for demonstrations.
Good to know
- Clashes are found visually by overlaying sheets; there is no automatic 3D clash detection.
